To say it was the "BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE" is an understatement. The Bladesmithing Experience was so fun, informative, and never lacking anyone answering your questions no matter how in depth, simple or technical. We got to learn so much from such a welcoming and knowledgeable team. Without a doubt will be returning as regulars. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!
Such an awesome day with Neels and the team at Black Dragon Black Dragon Forge / Neels van den Berg. Living the dream in my own Forged in Fire episode learning, forging, grinding, shaping and polishing my own blade…with Neels’s amazing workshop soundtrack and magnetic personality, his great team and so much Oros.

Had a proper jol at Black Dragon Forge and I’m pretty sure I left with a new personality trait. The team was honestly awesome, super friendly, full of jokes, and just made the whole experience lekker from the start.
They don’t just stand around looking cool, they actually get you involved, show you what’s going on, and make sure you’re part of the action. I arrived knowing absolutely nothing and left feeling like I could at least pretend I know what I’m doing.
You can tell they take their craft seriously, but not themselves, which makes the whole thing even better. Solid experience, great people, and just an all round good time.
These guys are the real deal.

Fantastic experience! I came through once with my wife and once with my dad. The team is very friendly, runs you through everything step by step and help you along the way. Lunch was really tasty as well. Would recommend this as a gift/experience for anyone looking to try somehting new.

I had a 1 day bladesmithing experience and it was amazing. The course was very well rounded out and you leave with a knife made by you under the guiding hand of master bladesmiths. A jovial atmosphere greets you in the workshop. Safety is a top priority with most job-specific safety gear provided. All tasks are explained clearly, then demonstrated with an actual knife by the bladesmiths. They also answer all questions patiently and keep an eye while a task is performed. They will also step in and give advice if necessary. During a hearty lunch they joined the conversation making us feel like part of the crew for a day. A great experience that I would completely recommend. The dirt road could be better, but give yourself time to go slow, and most cars should be able to handle it.
